About Me
Hi, I’m Leah Peterson. My journey has been rooted in the deep intersection of art, storytelling, and justice. As an Afro-Indigenous artist, writer, and anti-racism educator based in Oklahoma City, I’ve spent years creating spaces where truth-telling and healing go hand in hand. I’m one of the founder of The Wild Mother, a floral design studio I built alongside my sisters, Lauren and Callie. Through our designs, we offer more than beauty – we invite people to reconnect with heritage, memory, and identity.
Back in 2016, following the tragic shootings of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling, I helped launch The Conversation Workshops with my sister Lauren. What began as a gathering of friends grieving and asking hard questions eventually evolved into a structured space for meaningful dialogue around race, equity, and community care. These workshops became a vital outlet for people seeking not just understanding, but a path forward.
I earned my BA in English from Oklahoma Baptist University in 2013, followed by an MA in English from Oklahoma State University in 2015. My academic path deepened my love for language and its power to shape change. Over the years, I’ve served as Writing Manager at The Nature Conservancy and supported college students through Project SOAR at OSU-OKC as an English Specialist.

One of my proudest projects was Send Flowers to Greenwood, a large-scale floral tribute honoring those lost in the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. I also co-created Lay of the Land, an anti-racism workshop designed specifically for creative small businesses.
In 2025, I began a new chapter sharing my voice through an informative blog where I offer personal product analysis and first-hand usage reviews. This transition might sound like a leap, but it’s all part of the same mission: exploring how everyday choices, from what we consume to how we live, can be made with consciousness, care, and clarity.
Today, I write about the things I experience and explore from ethically crafted goods and sustainable home finds to tools that make life easier or more intentional. My reviews are rooted in lived experience, not algorithms. It’s still storytelling, still justice work just told one honest review at a time.
